This privacy policy applies to the app “Connect Insights” for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and Apple Vision Pro including its widgets (the “App”). The App shows the sales, download and subscription data of your own apps from App Store Connect, along with public rankings from the App Store. Your privacy matters: there is no server of my own, and your numbers are never shared with me or anyone else.

To show your data, you enter your own API key for Apple's App Store Connect API in the App (issuer ID, key ID, private key and vendor number). These credentials are stored encrypted in your device's Keychain only and are never sent to me.
With them, the App loads – depending on the key's role – your sales, financial, subscription and subscription event reports, the App Store analytics reports (such as impressions, product page views, sessions, installations, crashes), the list of your apps, their version and review status, TestFlight builds and feedback, customer reviews and responses, and the title, subtitle, keywords and description of your store listings directly from Apple (api.appstoreconnect.apple.com) and shows them on your device. The reports contain values aggregated by Apple (such as downloads, proceeds, subscriptions and cancellations per day and country) and no data that identifies individual customers. Reviews include the reviewer's public nickname, TestFlight feedback your testers' comments. Everything is shown and cached only on your device so the App loads faster.
Access is read-only in general. Only two actions change something in App Store Connect, both on your behalf: requesting the App Store analytics reports for your apps once (so Apple creates them) and – only when you trigger it yourself – publishing, editing or deleting responses to reviews. Responses are then visible to everyone on the App Store.
Choosing “Remove connection” in the settings deletes the credentials from the Keychain. You can revoke the key itself anytime in App Store Connect under Users and Access › Integrations.
If you also set up an In-App Purchase key, the App reads the history of App Store Server Notifications through Apple's App Store Server API (api.storekit.itunes.apple.com). It contains events such as new subscriptions, free trials, renewals, cancellations and refunds with product, price, country and time – without names, email addresses or anything else that identifies your customers. The key is stored only in your device's Keychain; the events are shown only on your device.
For widgets, the App stores a summary of your numbers in a protected area on your device that only the App and its widgets can read. The same summary is sent to your paired Apple Watch through Apple's encrypted connection between your own devices (WatchConnectivity). Notifications (e.g. about new subscriptions, reviews or unusual days) are created by the App itself on your device when iOS runs it in the background – there is no push server. Siri and Shortcuts are answered with the numbers stored on your device.
For app icons, keyword rankings, category charts, search suggestions, ratings and reviews, the App queries public information directly from the Apple App Store (including the iTunes Search API and Apple's RSS feeds). Only public app IDs, search terms and the respective country are sent, together with your IP address as with any web request. The results and your tracked keywords are stored only on your device.
Without a subscription, the App is funded on iPhone and iPad by labeled ads. It uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. This may involve processing your IP address, device and system information (such as device model, iOS version, language), approximate location (derived from the IP address), interactions with ads and – only with your consent – your device's advertising identifier (IDFA). Your App Store Connect data is never transmitted for this.
Consent: Users in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent through Google's consent platform (User Messaging Platform) before personalized ads are shown (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Without consent, only non-personalized ads are shown. You can change your choice anytime in the App under Settings › Ad Privacy Settings.
App Tracking Transparency: The advertising identifier (IDFA) is only used if you allow it in Apple's prompt. You can withdraw this anytime in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security › Tracking.
Data may be transferred to countries outside the EU, in particular the United States. Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. More information: policies.google.com/privacy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
With a Connect Insights Pro subscription, no ads are shown and the ads SDK isn't started. On the Mac and Apple Vision Pro, the App never shows ads.
Connect Insights Pro is purchased and managed entirely through Apple's App Store. I don't receive any payment data or information that identifies you personally – the App only learns whether an active subscription exists.
Apart from section 4, the App uses no analytics or tracking services (the App Store analytics in section 2 are Apple's reports about your apps, not an analysis of how you use this App), creates no account with me and sends no data to me. Uninstalling the App deletes all data stored on your device; to reliably remove Keychain entries, use “Remove connection” in the settings.
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and the right to withdraw any consent given at any time with effect for the future. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. As I don't store any personal data myself, please also contact Apple or Google directly about data they process.
The App is not directed at children under 13.
I update this privacy policy when the App or the law changes. The version published here applies.
